Continuing Education Requirements for Real Estate Licenses in Vermont:
Brokers applying for renewal of licenses must complete twelve hours of continuing education during the two-year period ending on the renewal date. Salespersons applying for renewal must complete eight hours of continuing education during the two-year period ending on the renewal date.
Four (4) hours of continuing education must be in a subject designated by the Commission for that licensing period. The Commission has designated the mandatory course for the 2008 renewal cycle to cover only the Real Estate Statutes. (VSA Title 26, Chapter 41, and Title 3 Chapter 5, §1129 a Unprofessional Conduct.)

Procedure when completing the course:
When completing course the school will mail a Certificate of Completion to you and will then notify the Vermont Real Estate Commission within 20 business days. You will then be able to make your renewal payment when due. |

4 Hour Pricing Property Course - $39 (Difficulty rating: Intermediate)
In this course students will be introduced to the concepts, types and approaches to value. Students will learn about market value; determining the right comparable for a subject property; accurately determining square footage; how to correctly make adjustments to value; market timing; and the reason why property sells.
Approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission for 4 hours of CE credit.

3 Hour ADA Fair Housing Course - $29 (Difficulty rating: Intermediate)
The goal of this course is to enable participants to comply with the fair housing laws and ADA by approaching all consumers in the same regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.
Approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission for 3 hours of CE credit.

4 Hour Environment Basics Course -$39 (Difficulty rating: Intermediate)
The goal of this course is to identify environmental hazards and how they affect the real estate industry, including environmental factors that may require a disclosure statement. Topics covered include air quality, radon, asbestos, urea formaldehyde foam insulation, mold, ground water, smart growth, and green housing. Students will learn about the major health affects and remedies of these substances, as well as ways of preventing or eliminating biological pollutants.
Approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission for 4 hours of CE credit

4 Hour Real Estate Math Course - $39 (Difficulty rating: Intermediate)
This course is designed to provide the licensee with a check of his/her math knowledge and to help reinforce what is already known. The course covers fractions, decimals, percentages, measurements, pro rations and has interactive problems helping the student's learning process.

6 Hour Home Inspection Course - $51 (Difficulty rating: Intermediate)
This is a basic course in home inspection. The course covers the requirements of property inspection and the responsibilities of licensed inspectors, the basic fundamentals of the exterior components of real property; the components of interior housing construction; red flags associated with environmental hazards; and the procedure for inspecting heating and cooling system.
Approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission for 6 hours of CE credit

3 Hour Real Estate Ethics Course - $29 (Difficulty rating: Intermediate)
This course was designed to introduce licensees to general ethics, giving licensees the information they need to make ethical decisions in real estate and business transactions. Topics covered include history of the Code of Ethics; the structure of the Code of Ethics; Articles vs Standards of Practice; key concepts associated with ethics; enforcement of the Code of Ethics; and case interpretations regarding the Articles and Standards of Practice.
Approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission for 3 hours of CE credit.
